The fertilized mature ovule containing the embryo surrounded by a layer of hard coat is generally called as seed. The fruit is a characteristic feature found in flowering plants that develop from the ovary after fertilization. If fruit develops without fertilization then it is called parthenocarpic fruit. Such fruits are seedless.
