A scar left by the stalk which is known as hilum is the location where the ovule to the ovary wall attach to each other before it became a seed. The two characteristic markers of the seed are hilum and micropyle. The hilum is produced when it is separated from its placenta. The hilum aids in displaying the attachment site of the ovule to the ovary wall.
Testa is the outer seed coat and tegmen is the inner seed coat.
The raphe is the part in the funiculus attached to the ovule wall and seen as a line or ridge on the seed coat, that acts as a connection.
