Q. Root pressure is higher when

Solution:

Root pressure is the positive pressure inside the xylem of the roots as a result of water movement up to the xylem. This can be observed and measured when a freshly cut root stump continues to exude sap form its xylem sap. When transpiration is very low, there is not any requirement of water absorption as sufficient amount of water is already existing there for the process of photosynthesis. This results in increased root pressure.
