Solution:

Root hairs are present in the region of maturation having cells that have become differentiated and take up specialised functions in the root. This region of maturation is 1-6 cm in length. The cells in this region have lost the power of division. Root hairs are unicellular tubular structures found in epiblema to increase the rate of absorption of water and minerals. Root hairs are ephemeral or short-lived and new root hairs are continuously developed on the young parts of the root.
