Ribosomes were discovered by Palade $(1955)$ in bean root. These are submicroscopic parricles, seen with the help of electrone microscope. They are composed of $r$-RNA and proteins, present in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells. In eukaryotic cells these of larger sized $80S$ (each unit is $60S$ and $40S$ ) and in prokaryotic cells these of smaller sized $70S$ (each unit is $50S$ and $30S$ ).
These attached to endoplasmic reticulum in eukaryotic cells and takes' part in protein synthesis.
Endoplasmic reticulum were discovered by Porter
