Promeristem is the region of new growth situated at the apices of shoots and roots (rip of plumules and radicle) where the foundation of new organs or of their parts is laid down is referred to as promeristem, primordial meristem, unmeristem or embryonic meristem. It consists of thin walled isodiametric cells with dense cytoplasm and large nuclei. Promeristem differentiates into primary meristem.
