Genetic engineering is the technique of changing the phenotype of an organism by altering the chemical properties of the genetic material. Genetic engineering is useful for manufacturing products like antibiotics, vaccines, enzymes, proteins, etc. When recombinant DNA is added to the host organisms the protein synthesis is carried out in the similar manner and the desired results are obtained. This is because the principles governing the process, the enzymes involved and the genetic code itself are all universal in nature.
