Pollination refers to transfer of pollen from anther to stigma. Pollination by wind is termed as anemophily. The flowers produce huge amount of pollen because of ample wastage. Pollination through the water is called hydrophily. When pollination occurs below the water level it is described as hypohydrogamic and when it occurs at the level of water it called epihydrogamic. The phenomenon of pollination by animals is called zoophily. Entomophily is the pollination of flowers by insects. The flowers are variously adapted to attract the insects.
