Solution:
Placentation found in tomato is axile in which placenta arise from the central axis of ovary. The margin of carpeles meet at the centre of axis. So, chambers in fruits are equal the number of carpels. This type of placentation is also found in Hibicus rosa sinensis and Solarium tuberosum. All marginal placentation is characteristic feature of legume like gram, pea, and apple. Parietal placentation is found in mustard, raddish and papaya while basal placentation is found in plants of family-Compositae.
