Solution:
Photolysis is a chemical reaction produced by exposure to light or ultraviolet radiation. The photolysis of water, using energy from sunlight absorbed by chlorophyll, produces gaseous oxygen, electrons, and hydrogen ions or protons and is a key reaction in photosynthesis. 2H2O⇌2H++2OH− 2H+ (protons) and 2 electrons evolved in this process. The protons released in the system are utilised for reduction of NADP while OH− radical reacts to form H2O2 which further breaks up into H2O and O2. The electrons are used in reducing PS-II.
