Solution:

Ganglia are the division of the neural somata and are of different sizes. They are bound by a capsule of fibrous connective tissues and contains neuronal processes. The parasympathetic ganglia, also known as craniosacral ganglia are a division of the ganglia of the autonomic nervous system.

The parasympathetic nervous system is a division of the central nervous system comprising of the cranial nerves III, VII, IX, X and the sacral nerves. The outflow of the sympathetic nervous system is from the thoracic and upper lumbar spinal cord.

The parasympathetic preganglionic fibres in the central nervous system consists of cells which makes synapses in the ganglia close to or near the target organ. The parasympathetic preganglionic fibres travel to a particular ganglia linked to a specific organ and hence are long. The parasympathetic postganglionic fibres are short and hence are found within the innervated tissue.

The parasympathetic ganglia of the parasympathetic nervous system are autonomic in nature. Since they lie near, or within the organs that they innervate, they are known as intramural ganglia. The parasympathetic ganglia of the head and neck are the exception to this rule.
