Noncyclic photo phosphorylation is performed by collaboration of both photosystems II and I. It is connected with photolysis of water and liberation of oxygen. It produces both ATP and NADPH. It takes place under optimum light, aerobic conditions and in the presence of carbon dioxide and is connected with CO2 fixation in all plants.Electron released during photolysis (breaking of water molecule to release oxygen and protons) of water is picked up by photocentre of PS II called P680. The same is extruded out when the photocentre absorbs light energy (hu). It passes through a series of electron carriers - phaeophytin, PQ cytochrome b6 - f complex and plastocyanin. The electron is handed over to photocentre P700 of PS I by plastocyanin.
