Solution:

The tissue that surrounds and provides nutrients to the embryo in the seeds of angiosperms is known as endosperm. The endosperm in certain seeds of dicots such as pea, gram and the bean is completely absorbed when matured and the embryo is nourished by the fleshy food-storing cotyledons. The endosperm is absent as it is utilised in the development of the embryo, hence these seeds are called as non-endospermic or exalbuminous or non-albuminous seeds.
