Q. Match the tissue/cell with its correct feature/function.
Tissue Feature/Function
A Exocrine gland I Facilitates communication by connecting the cytoplasm of adjoining cells.
B Endocrine gland II Chemical messenger is secreted directly into the fluid connective tissue.
C Gap Junctions III Either cuboidal or columnar epithelium adapted for the secretory function.
D Goblet cells IV Secretes mucus, saliva, digestive enzyme, and other cell products.

Solution:

Exocrine gland is formed of secretory epithelium whose secretions are released in a duct rather than directly mixed in blood stream. Endocrine is again formed of secretory epithelium tissue whose secretions which are called hormones are directly released into the blood (fluid connective tissue). Goblet cells are unicellular modified secretory epithelium commonly found in digestive glands. Gap junctions are a type of link found in animal tissues which help in cell to cell communication, viz., rapid transfer of ions.
