Gametes are produced by meiosis, so they are haploid and carry carry half number of chromosomes (or DNA content ) as that of parent cell.
A cell in which meiosis takes place, is called meiocytes which are diploid and carry twice number of chromosomes (or DNA content) as that of gametic cell.
If male gamete of a plant carries 20pg DNA, it is its haploid content.
Its meiocyte is diploid, so it contains 20 x 2 = 40 pg of DNA.
G2 phase is phase of interphase which takes place after S-phase or Synthesis phase.
In S-phase DNA content of a cell is duplicated so in G2 phase DNA content is 40 x 2 = 80 pg.
