Solution:

Due to wave particle duality of matter, light simultaneously exhibits properties of both waves and particles. When it undergoes refraction say from air to glass, then there is a change in direction of wave due to a change in its velocity. Refraction of light wave occurs at the boundary of air-glass medium at the boundary between the two media the waves phase velocity is altered, its changes direction and its velocity decreases but frequency remains unaltered.
