Phylloclade is a green photosynthetic flattened or rounded succulent stem with reduced leaves modified into spines. Phylloclade is seen in opuntia, casuarina, euphorbia, cactus. Cladode is a also a modification of stem which usually is one or two internodes long and is succulent. Cladode is seen in asparagus and ruscus. Phyllode is a modification of leaf in which its petiole becomes flat and functions as normal leaf. It is seen in Australian acacia.
