Vegetative propagation (vegetative reproduction), is the process of multiplication in which a portion or fragment of the plant body functions as a propagule and develops into new individual. Plants produced by vegetative propagation of tubers constitute a genetically uniform population of constant vigour. This is also called clone. It is done in those species which do not form viable seeds. The morphology changed after vegetative propagation due to somaclonal variations or environmental effect.
