Q.
In the process of meiosis, there are two sequential cycles of nuclear and cell division. How many cycles of DNA replication are required in meiosis?
Meiosis is a type of cell division in which the number of chromosomes in the daughter cell is reduced by half. DNA replication occurs during S phase. This is followed by meiosis I (reduction division) and meiosis II (equational division). There is no DNA replication between the two meiotic divisions. Hence, DNA replication occurs only once.
