Larynx is a tube covered by 4 cartilage and a pair of arytenoid cartilages. Thyroid cartilage is the largest one, forms the venter lateral walls of larynx incomplete dorsally, and gives rise the epiglottis. Cricoid cartilage is ring like and present behind the thyroid cartilage. Arytenoid cartilages are present on the dorsal side of the larynx and bear a pair of cartilaginous pieces at their tips known assantorini.
