Solution:
Double fertilization is a unique characteristic observed in the Angiosperm group of plants. In this, two fertilizations are observed - 1st between the female and male gametic cells forming zygote and 2nd is between the second male gamete and polar nuclei forming the primary endosperm nucleus. In it, a 2n zygote forms in first fertilization and a 3n primary endosperm nucleus forms in second fertilization which results in formation of aleurone layer in monocotyledons.
Aleurone layer has 12 chromosomes and is 3n. n is 4 chromosomes.
Ovary of the plant is diploid that is 2n. Thus, it will have 8 chromosomes.
