Solution:

It is the second phase of mitosis. The nuclear envelope disappears during this process. Due to which chromosome spread throughout the cytoplasm and spindle formation occurs. In prometaphase around the centromere, there is a protein develop that is called the kinetochore. Each chromosome gets attached to the spindle by its centromere in the center and lines up all the chromosomes in one plane in the equator. It is followed by the third phase of mitosis i.e. metaphase. In anaphase, centromeres divide and in telophase chromosomes are pulled apart to poles.
