Mostly in the dicotyledonous plant, radical give rise to primary roots which gives lateral branches finally forming a taproot system. In monocot, primary roots are short lived giving rise to fibrous root. Some monocots like grasses, banyan tree. Roots develop from other parts than radical and this type of root is called adventitious root.
