The pollen grain is generally released in 2 celled stages in angiosperms. The two cells are generative and vegetative cells. The generative cell later undergoes division and forms two male gametes. The mature fully developed, fertilization ready pollen grain has 3 nuclei in it after the division of the generative cell.
