Green house effect are effect in which short wavelengtth solar radiation entering the earths atmosphere is re-radiated from the earths surface in the longer wavelength and is then reabsorbed by components of the atmosphere to become an important factor in heating the total atmosphere. O3, CO2 and H2O vapour all absorb the infrared wavelengths. Increasing amounts of CO, from combustion of fossil fuels is a growing factor in raising the mean atmospheric temperature. This effect resembles heat reflection by a glasshouse.
