The Golgi body or the Golgi apparatus is a complex organelle present in the eukaryotic cell and is involved in transporting, modifying and secretion. The blue-green algae or the cyanobacteria are prokaryotic and therefore devoid of the Golgi complex. Yeast, liver cells and higher plants have eukaryotic cells and show the presence of the Golgi bodies in them.
