The reactions of glucose with Schiffs reagent, sodium bisulphite, 2, 4-DNP ammonia are reversible hence open chain form always remains in equilibrium with the two cylcic hemi-acetal forms. As a result, these reagents cannot disturb the equilibrium to generate more of open chain form from the cyclic hemi acetal so, do not react with glucose.
