The larva of frog is fully formed in about 10-12 hours after the egg is fertilized. Gills developed in the larva of frog (tadpole). Hence, the tadpole larva respire by gills. Adult frogs are adapted for an amphibious mode of life. These, therefore, possess lungs, but also use their skin and the lining of buccopharyngeal cavity for accessory respiration.
