Cotton fibres are obtained from Gossypium sp. It is perennial shrub. The fruits are capsules called balls, with locules. Each locule contains about seeds. Epidermal hair from seed surface of Gossypium arboreum and other Species are found. Epidermal hair present on the seed surface are of two types, extractable lint and non-ex tractable fluffy or fizzed fuzz.
