Peptide bond is an amide linkage which is formed between COOH group of one amino acid and NH2 group of another amino acid. A water molecule is always eliminated in forming of a peptide bond. A sugar molecule has several reactive hydroxyl groups. The hydroxyl group of 1stC atom forms a linkage with a hydroxyl groups of another sugar molecule, during this a water molecule is eliminated. In this process of dehydration synthesis, the bond formed is called glycosidic bond.
