Solution:

Cytoplasmic genes, ie, plasmogens, cytogenes extranuclear genes or extrachromosomal genes are locaied in the cytoplasm or outside of the nucleus. The term plasmon is used to the sum total of genes present in the cytoplasm of a cell, while the term plastome is used to the genes found in the plasrids of a cell. Similarly, the term chondrion is used to the sum total of genes present in the mitochondria of a cell. All the available evidence indicate that extranuclear genes (DNA) are located in mitochondria and plastids of a cell.
