Phosphorylation is a process wherein the ATP is synthesized from ADP and inorganic phosphate in the presence of light. The photosystem PS I and PS II work in series, where first comes PS II then PS I such a process is called as non-cyclic photophosphorylation. These photosystems are connected through the electron transport chain and the phosphorylation occurs due to the cyclic flow of electrons from PS II to PS I in the lamellae.
