Solution:
The pressure that is exerted by the movement of molecules from the region of higher concentration to the region of lower concentration is known as diffusion pressure. The DPD term was coined by B.S.Meyer in 1938. The reduction in diffusion pressure of the solvent in a system over its pure state is called diffusion pressure deficit. It can be calculated through this formula i.e. OP-WP. Here OP is the osmotic pressure. It is that minimum pressure which is required to stop the inward movement of water through the semipermeable membrane. WP is wall pressure that is exerted by the wall to the protoplasm.
