Solution:
Dikaryon is a condition wherein two nuclei per cell is found. This condition is seen in fungi like ascomycetes and basidiomycetes, whereas in other fungi, the fusion of haploid cells results in the formation of diploid cells immediately. Mucor is an example of Phycomycetes where asexual reproduction takes place by motile or non-motile spores and a zygospore is formed when two gametes fuse.
