Solution:
Angular limit of resolution of eye is the ratio of wavelength of light to diameter of eye lens.
Angular limit of resolution of eye = Diameter of eye lens Wavelength of light
ie, θ=dλ...(i)
If y is the minimum resolution between two objects at distance D from eye, then θ=Dy ..(ii)
From Eqs. (i) and (ii), we have Dy=dλ
or y=dλD...(iii)
Given, λ=5000A˚=5×10−7m, D=50m, d=2mm=2×10−3m
Substituting in Eq. (iii), we get y=2×10−35×10−7×50 =12.5×10−3m =1.25cm
