Artificial Insemination (AI) is a technique of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) to correct the problem of infertility. This technique is beneficial when the male partner is unable to inseminate the female or if the sperm count in the ejaculate of the male is below the required count. This procedure involves the collection of semen either from the husband who is unable to inseminate or from a healthy donor who has a good sperm count and is transferred into the vagina or into the uterus of the female artificially to undergo the process of fertilization and further development.
