Connecting link is one, which exhibits characteristics of more than one groups. Neopilina, is a connecting link between phylum-Annelida and Mollusca. It shows annelidan characters like presence of trochophore larva, eggs divide by spiral cheavage as in polychaetes, presence of 5-6 pairs of (tenidica, 6 pairs of nephridia, 8 pairs of retracter muscles and two pairs of avricles. On the other hand, molluscan characters of Neopilina are presence of shell and mantle, presence of a flat muscular foot as found in chiton and presence of soft and dorsoventrally flattened body.
