Q. Competition of species leads to

1696  196 Organisms and Populations Report Error

Solution:

When both partners/components are affected negatively the nature of interaction is known as competition. Competition is the rivalry for obtaining the same resource. So, when two organisms compete for a particular resource in the same niche, both cannot survive. No two organisms can live in the same niche. One of the two is eliminated. So, in the course of time elimination may lead to extinction as only the fittest will survive.
