The cerebellum controls rapid muscular activities such as running, typing and even talking. Damage to cerebellum will produce two types of defects: defects of posture and defects of voluntary movements. It mainly causes atonia (less tone); asthenia (weakness of movements) and ataxia (incoordinated movement).
