Solution:
Corticotropin releasing hormone (CRH)) of hypothalamus stimulates anterior pituitary to secrete adrenocorticotrophic hormone. The influence of CRH on the production of ACTH is particularly important during emotional and physical stress. During stress, level of epinephrine and vasopressin is increased which stimulate the release of CRH from hypothalamus. It causes release of ACTH from anterior pituitary which stimulates release of cortisol or stress hormone.
