Q. Besides corticotropin releasing hormone (CRH) which other hormones also stimulate the release of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH)?

Chemical Coordination and Integration

Solution:

Corticotropin releasing hormone $(CRH))$ of hypothalamus stimulates anterior pituitary to secrete adrenocorticotrophic hormone. The influence of $CRH$ on the production of $ACTH$ is particularly important during emotional and physical stress. During stress, level of epinephrine and vasopressin is increased which stimulate the release of $CRH$ from hypothalamus. It causes release of $ACTH$ from anterior pituitary which stimulates release of cortisol or stress hormone.
