Solution:

The single-celled bacterium reproduces by binary fission where it divides into two identical daughter cells. This process of fission begins when the DNA of the bacteria replicates and divides into two. When the conditions are not suitable, some bacteria produce spores and undergo asexual reproduction. These unicellular organisms also reproduce by transferring DNA which can be either floating in the environment (transformation), when the DNA moves from one bacterium to another through a conjugation tube between them by the process of conjugation.
