Arthropods are the animals with bilateral symmetry, three germ layers in the body wall (triploblastic), metamerically segmented body plan and segments are jointed externally only. Organ system grade of body organization and division of labour is also found. Appendages are jointed and variously adapted for walking, swimming, feeding, sensory reception and defence. Body cavity of arthropods is a fluid filled haemocoel.
