The microsporangia is circular in outline and is surrounded by a four-layered wall, outermost epidermis which is protective in function. Next to it is endothecium which helps in dehiscence of sporangia. Than middle layer and the innermost tapetum which is nutritive layer and provides nutrition to developing microspore.
