Inclusion bodies are freely floating particles within the cytoplasm. Changes in pH of cytoplasm results in formation of these inclusion bodies. These are found in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes. In prokaryotes, they are formed to store reserve food whereas in eukaryotes these store materials that are ready for cellular metabolism. Reserve food material is stored in vacuoles in eukaryotes.
