Female cockroach differs from the male cockroach in many features -
- The body of male cockroach is relatively smaller than the female cockroach
- The antennae of female is larger than in males.
- Boat shaped abdomen is present in female cockroach and its last segment is blunt.
- The wing size of female cockroach is not as large as that of the males and extend up to the tip of the abdomen.
- The 10th segment bears a pair of jointed filamentous structures called anal cerci found in both sexes and the males bear a thread like small structure called as anal styles (caudal style). This is absent in the female.
