Pinus needle have thick cuticle, they have sunken stomata and have resin duct beneath the cuticle hence their hypodermis is discontinuous, pinus can be haploxylon i.e., one fibrovascular bundle or diploxylon i.e., two fibro vascular bundle. Hence the above given transverse section is of pinus needle.
