lens acts like a concave mirror and its focal length f is given by f1=fe2+fm1 =R/(μ−1)2+R/21 ⇒f=2μR
Now, by mirror formula, we have f1−υ1+u1
Here, u=υ=−x ∴R2μ=x(−1)+x(−1) ⇒R2μ=x−2orx=μ−R
So, distance of object is(μR) from the pole of silvered plano-convex lens
