In monoadelphous condition the stamens are united into one bundle by the filaments. Monoadelphous stamen found in the family Malvaceae. In family Solanaceae the stamens are usually 5, sometimes 4 and- didynamous, when the stamens are less than 5 the lost stamen is usually represented by a reduced (staminode). In family Brassicaceae the stamens are usually six. They are tetradynamous i.e., outer two stamens are short whereas the inner four are long. Androecium of family Liliaceae consists of six stamens arranged in two whorls. The stamens are opposite to parianth leaves.
