Q.
A cylinder contains 10kg of gas at pressure of 107N/m2. The quantity of gas taken out of the cylinder, if final pressure is 2.5×106N/m2 will be (temperature of gas is constant)
Intital mass of the gas m1=10kg
Initial pressure P1=10N/m2
Final pressure P2=2.5×106N/m2
According to kinetic theory of gases PV=31mc−2
or P∝m
Hence, P2P1=m2m1
or 2.5×16107=m210
or m2=2.5kg
Hence, quantity of gas taken out from the cylinder is 10−2.5=7.5kg
